Umer Farooq
Umar Farooq is the co-founder of UA studios. He graduated as an architect from the National College of Arts in 2015. Through his work, he strives to bring the essential architectural components to the surface which reflects a commitment to creating meaningful and tangible architectural experiences for users.
His focus on developing a strong physical and phenomenological architectural language suggests a dedication to creating spaces that not only look aesthetically pleasing but also offer immersive and engaging experiences. This approach goes beyond the superficial and aims to create environments that resonate with people on multiple levels, engaging their senses and emotions.
Anita Nadeem
Anita is co- founder of UA studios, based in Islamabad. At UA studios, she leads design projects and the research wing. Skilled in bringing meaningful ideas to life, she strives to achieve a balance between architecture and research combined with design thinking for strengthening our communities.
In the past she has worked closely with different communities and developed an in-depth understanding of sustainable and context-based practices in Architecture. She worked as a project architect with Aga Khan Trust for Culture their
Historic cities program and undertook the restoration and rehabilitation of key historic sites.
She received her education at AKU- ISMC London with a Masters in Muslim Cultures. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the National College of Arts.
